Hi!
I am Donna Hunter, a Real Estate Entrepreneur. Wow that sounds so grown up and important. The fact of the matter is I am just like you. Yes, you. I went to school, graduated, and got a job. I have had successes and have made mistakes. I am just like you. But I have always had a dream. A dream to break out of job jail. I just knew that there was more to life than the little low lit cubicle that I was relegated to endure 9-5 (really it was 7-7 or longer and 7 days a week). When opportunity knocks, do you open the door and let it in? HELL yes!! I did. For me the knock came in the form of that preverbal proverbial pink slip. Really mine was my mild mannered boss hovering just inside my doorway afraid to step in to tell me the good news…that today was my last day in job jail. After 20 years of service in purchasing, sourcing, planning, accounting and all-around general problem solver for a fortune 500 oil well services company, the door was thrust open and I was let out. Oh and I got a watch and best wishes. So what does anyone do in that situation. Go get another job. Ugh, no. I just could not. I refuse. So I got a wild hair. Why not build something out of the ashes of our past experiences. It’s just crazy enough to work. So I took the bull by the horns and started Hunter House Buyers with my business partner, Stephanie McDaniel, in 2016. Two real estate entrepreneurs are born.
Wow, now that is a hard act to follow. What can I possibly say to be more thrust into the fire than what Donna just described! Isn’t it the truth that corporate America overrated, and is a place that many hard working creative, enduring, and genius individuals are underpaid for the enormous contributions they make on a daily basis? The fact is we as individuals are in charge of our future, our piece of the pie, our dreams, and how we can manifest those dreams is just to think and talk about our plans every day and then live those dreams!
Ok now about me! I am actually interested in building a business on helping people become secure, get out of a tight spot, start over, get started, or whatever stage of life they happen to be in, to move forward not back. There are so many reasons why this can happen and I have experienced several of them for example: divorce, single parenting, and having my credit blown to pieces through no fault of my own. I even ate off food stamps for a couple of years in order to get my education and start over and feed my 6 month old.
Coming from the medical field has helped me to listen with an open heart and open ears. I hope that anyone reading this will feel compelled and comfortable talking with Donna or me if you have a real estate need or problem. Our favorite thing to solve is the most difficult situations because that enables us to help the most. This is me, Investor gone Realtor back to Investor. This year we plan on closing 7 to 10. We currently have wholesaled an apartment complex in Galveston, joint ventured on several single-family homes, currently involved in rehabbing a house and lender on a storage unit facility.

Our investment strategies are to find undervalued houses, do minor to major repairs based on due diligence, and depending on how the numbers dictate wholesale, resell or buy-and-hold.
Our goals are to learn as much as possible about every aspect of real estate. To maintain a work life balance with faith, family and work in that order. Learning as much as we can about one aspect of real estate before venturing out into another and using each as a stepping stone to the next aspect of our real estate business. Our main focus and goal for the company is to help people and in the process help us advance the business into the future.
